ICM - Ethanol - The Fuel of the Future Back Next
2006-4

IndyCars switched from methanol to 10% ethanol.

Fueled by the support of EPIC and the vision of Paul Dana, who was involved in a fatal practice crash in March 2006, the Indy Racing League switched from the methanol they'd been using since series inception to run a blend of 10% ethanol. Along with taking ethanol to the Indy 500 Brickyard, EPIC also promoted ethanol in other high-profile venues, including a 30-second commercial on the big screen in Times Square in New York.
