ICM, Inc. Announces Advanced Oil System™
Patent-Pending, Next-Generation Oil Separation Technology to be Deployed
 
(Colwich, Kan. – June 27, 2011) – ICM is pleased to announce that it has obtained signed contracts for the manufacture and installation of its patent-pending, next-generation Advanced Oil System™ (AOS™) at four plants.
 
About the technology: Currently, most oil extraction providers use a combination of centrifugation and chemical additives to extract corn oil; however, extraction rates can be limited by emulsification. ICM’s innovative AOS™ uses an inventive, emulsion breaking approach to deliver a much higher conversion rate than is currently possible with first-generation oil recovery technology. The Advanced Oil System™ consists of separate skid-mounted units that can be installed at plants without oil extraction technology, or a modified version of the technology can be installed at plants that have already invested in ICM’s first-generation oil separation equipment. ICM will be demonstrating this technology this Tuesday and Wednesday at the ethanol industry’s largest annual trade show and conference, the Fuel Ethanol Workshop, held in Indianapolis, Ind. Brock Beach, ICM Capital Sales Manager, said demonstrations will be scheduled to run every two hours during the conference.

(Colwich, Kan. –August 9, 2011) – ICM, Inc. continues to expand its market share by offering differentiated solutions to corn ethanol processing facilities to remove corn oil from stillage streams.  ICM recently announced the filing of a non-provisional patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its Advanced Oil System™ and the first commercial deployment of the technology.  The Advanced Oil System™ has garnered tremendous interest from industry operators.  ICM also continues to offer its Tricanter® Oil Separation System to the industry.

ICM, Inc.’s Selection of EISENMANN’s Emission Abatement Technology Strengthens Commercial Deployment of its Biomass Gasifier System
 
(Colwich, Kan. –August 23, 2011) –ICM is pleased to announce that it has coupled its feedstock-flexible gasification system with EISENMANN Corporation’s dual-field WESP (wet electrostatic precipitation) to further enhance ICM’s ability to deliver cleaner waste-to-energy applications. ICM chose this emission abatement technology based on the successful operation of ICM’s commercial-scale demonstration gasifier located adjacent to the Harvey County municipal solid waste transfer and recycling facility in Newton, Kan.
ICM’s gasifier in Harvey County was configured to demonstrate the system’s performance by testing multiple feedstocks including refused-derived fuel (RDF), tire-derived fuel mixed with RDF, wood chips, wheat straw, switchgrass, and corn stover, among others. Combined with an ICM thermal oxidizer and heat sink, the WESP 2-F system provides the flexibility essential to clean the emissions from a multitude of fuel sources. Combining the gasifier and emission abatement systems illustrates a confluence of state-of-the-art technologies that can meet the most stringent emission control requirements. The WESP-2F meets the critical requirements of both Best Available Control Technology (BACT) and Lowest Achievable Emission Rate (LAER) standards by ensuring a nearly continuous removal of large and small particulate matter, as well as acid gases. Unlike traditional wet electrostatic precipitators, the selected WESP-2F Dual Field technology guarantees the strictest level of emissions control across the broadest range of potential feedstocks. BACT is required on major new or modified sources in clean areas (i.e., attainment areas), and LAER is required on major new or modified sources in non-attainment areas.
