At ICM, Inc., we take seriously the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and contractors in the field – making the personal safety and health for every individual the utmost importance.

By defining and implementing core elements through our internal safety program, ICM strives to achieve an effective, comprehensive program which prevents occupational injuries and illnesses that surpasses the best experience of operations similar to ours.

We provide information about hazards, hazard controls, safety and health rules, and emergency response procedures to all employees through mandatory, annual safety training, and ensure that all contractors are aware of their safety and health responsibilities while on work property.

We encourage all employees to participate with a genuine, wholehearted involvement in all aspects of the safety and health, including: compliance with all OSHA Safety and Health standards, internal policies, and continuously practicing careful, sound judgment.

Employees are also encouraged to report job-related illnesses, injuries, and incidents, and are provided prompt responses to reported incidents and hazard control situations.

Our program includes the following major elements:

  • Management Leadership and Commitment
  • Employee Involvement
  • Hazard Identification and Assessment
  • Hazard Prevention and Control
  • Safety and Health Training
  • Evaluation of Program Effectiveness
  • Contractor Safety and Health Programs
  • Worksite Analysis

In the Community

The people of ICM possess a passion for living and for giving. And we express those passions both on- and off-the-clock by supporting many local, national, and international causes.

  • We support the Union Rescue Mission in Wichita, Kansas which provides help and shelter for the homeless.
  • ICM employees support the Salvation Army Angel Tree effort to buy Christmas gifts for families in need.
  • We support Wichita Young Life, a program that focuses on introducing adolescents to Christianity and helping them grow in their faith.
  • We support WAY-FM, a radio station whose mission is to encourage youth and young adults in their Christian lives.
  • We support the local Colwich community in which we are based, including participation in the annual Colwich Heritage Days Festival.
  • We sponsor local youth and adult sports teams, many of which have direct ties to ICM employees.
  • We actively support several missionary organizations and families around the globe, providing clean water pumps and food shelters.
  • We support Orphans Unlimited, an organization whose primary purpose is to reach the most remote parts of Africa and provide aid to widows and orphans in distress.
  • ICM designed and built a cassava-based ethanol plant for CleanStar Mozambique (a partnership with CleanStar Ventures, Novozymes, ICM and Bank of America) that provides clean-burning fuel to thousands of families in Mozambique. The program teaches local farmers sustainable agriculture methods and provides a cooking fuel that is much safer and cleaner than the expensive and inefficient charcoal that has been used in the past.

At ICM, we know that with healthy living comes more productivity, a better quality of life, and more energy for innovation. That’s why we launched our internal Healthy-U program – to support our employees in achieving their health and fitness goals. Through Healthy-U, we offer preventive and awareness education in the areas of health and fitness, financial management, and stress management.

The program also encourages employees to improve their health and well-being through initiatives like these:

  • Biometric Screenings
  • Educational Sessions
  • Health Risk Assessments
  • Incentive Programs
  • Immunizations
  • Corporate Challenges
  • Discount Fitness Memberships
  • Health Newsletters

Habitat for Humanity

And the lives of many Wichita families would be different.

Since 2004 the people of ICM have rolled up their sleeves and partnered with Wichita Habitat for Humanity to construct houses for families who lacked access to the traditional means of owning their own home. Because of their efforts, the City of Wichita has been energized to commit tracts of abandoned and underutilized land for development by Habitat for Humanity. In 2015, ICM completed its 13th Habitat home.

For 20 years, the people of ICM have been implementers of positive change in this world, and those fortunate enough to be close to them have had a front row seat to watching the difference that modern rarities like passion, self-sacrifice, and humble generosity can make.

“We are honored and humbled by ICM’s long-standing commitment to our mission of eliminating poverty housing in Sedgwick County. We offer our deep appreciation to ICM for their willingness to sponsor and help build . . . these homes.”

~ Linda Stewart, Wichita Habitat for Humanity Executive Director
